This cover was a challenge for me because it needed to show both femininity and war. It really needed to walk the line between feminine and masculine. After much reflection, I landed on a comic book theme. This was inspired by the title being something that would be said, and to me only made sense literally coming out of someone's mouth. The comic book theme fulfilled this function with its heavy use of speech bubbles and further allowed me to find related war imagery without the heaviness of photographs or the childishness of anything too cartoony. This style fell right on the line. The book is fast paced and full of action and that made it fit all the more.

For this title I designed the cover, full jacket, interior, a postcard, and a web banner.
