LITERARY FICTION / NATURE
TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY PRESS
Sixteen-year-old Ignatius “Egg” Girard spends his summer with his estranged grandfather helping to prepare his Kentucky farm for sale. Egg has an encounter with a secretive ground-dwelling bird thought to have gone extinct in the 1930s, the heath hen, or by its Latin name, tympanuchus cupido cupido.

This lovely, detailed image of the specific extinct hen mentioned in the book was a delightful surprise of a find. It was a treat to make it work with some beautifully simple text.
For this title I've designed the cover, spine and back, and full interior.
